Temecula Valley Spotlight

Temecula, CA Community

Robert Renzoni Winery is a family-owned vineyard with deep roots in winemaking that date back to 1886 in Italy. Robert’s great-grandfather, Federico, began making wine near the Adriatic coast, starting a tradition that has been passed down through generations. Today, Robert Renzoni carries on this legacy in the heart of Temecula Valley, California.

Location and Vineyard

The winery is located at 37350 De Portola Road in the “Valle de los Caballos” area of Temecula. The estate covers 12 acres of carefully selected land with the perfect climate and soil for growing Italian and Bordeaux grape varieties. Grapes such as Montepulciano, Pinot Grigio, Sangiovese, Barbera, and Cabernet Sauvignon thrive here. The vineyard uses sustainable and organic farming practices and is proud to be the first 100% solar-powered winery in Temecula.

The Winery Experience

Since opening in 2008, Robert Renzoni Winery has welcomed visitors with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The tasting room features a rustic Italian design with high wood-beamed ceilings and a warm vibe. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the tasting room offers a selection of reds and whites, including popular wines like Big Fred’s Red, a smooth red blend. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the tasting room and front patio are reserved for guests 21 and older, making it a popular weekend spot.

Dining at Mama Rosa’s Trattoria

One of the special features of the winery is Mama Rosa’s Trattoria, named after Robert’s grandmother. The restaurant serves classic Italian dishes with fresh ingredients, including wood-fired pizzas that many visitors call the best in Temecula wine country. The kitchen hours are Monday through Thursday starting at 11 a.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The bar stays open until 8 p.m. on weekends. Reservations are recommended, especially on busy days.

The menu includes favorites such as the R&R white pizza with mushrooms, meatballs, Italian Cobb and Caesar salads, and sandwiches. Guests can dine indoors or enjoy the outdoor patio overlooking the vineyard. There is also a cozy members’ lounge with a fireplace for cooler days.

Additional Amenities and Activities

Beyond wine tasting and dining, the winery offers live music events, a bocce ball court, a picnic area, and guided vineyard tours. These tours provide insight into the winemaking process and the care given to each vine. Pets are not allowed on the premises due to health regulations.

For wine lovers who want regular access to exclusive wines, the Vino Famiglia Wine Club offers pre-release wines, library selections, and special event invitations, along with access to the members’ lounge.
