The Battle of the Burgers is more than just a food competition—it’s a community celebration that directly benefits the Temecula Valley Unified School District (TVUSD) Career Technical Education Culinary Arts Program. This collaborative effort between Visit Temecula Valley, Pechanga Resort Casino, and TVUSD provides crucial funding for hands-on culinary training that prepares high school students for careers in the food industry. Last year’s event raised over $8,000 for the program, and organizers are hoping to exceed that amount at this year’s competition.
The competition’s format is straightforward yet exciting. Local restaurants bring their best with unique burger creations that showcase their culinary creativity. Attendees get to sample these delicious offerings while professional judges evaluate each entry based on taste, presentation, and originality. But the burger battle isn’t the only competition happening—the event also features a special “Loaded Fries” contest where culinary students get to shine. The Battle of the Burgers features two award categories: the Judge’s Choice and the People’s Choice. The Judge’s Choice awards are determined by a panel of five culinary experts who carefully evaluate each burger’s taste, presentation, and creativity.
